"We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next, to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again — to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more."
What will you discover?
Perhaps you will discover yourself; perhaps you will discover the world
I believe travel can be transformational in two ways. One is for the individual to find insight into themselves. The second is for individuals to find insight into the world around them. The two are obviously intertwined, since sometimes, through experiencing "otherness", or what causes us discomfort, we can be inspired into action, whether for ourselves or for our communities, both locally and globally. Travel can cross both literal and figurative boundaries, allowing us to expand our conceptions of our "tribe" beyond families, ethnicities, religions, and states, and to see our fellow humanity in those who are wholly different from us in all of those categories. Even in creatures that aren't human. That empathy is the basis of altruism, that can be expressed as both self-compassion and community engagement. Travel can transform us and the world. Will you let it transform you?
I have the resources and tools to help individuals, couples, and even teams, wanting everything from a simple get-away on the beach to an individualized healing retreat with wellness and therapeutic components. I can add personal coaches, therapists, guides and companions, if needed or desired. I can help with life changes, burnout, sabbaticals, or just a chance to look at the world and your life from a different perspective. Or if you want to travel in sustainable or regenerative ways (never sacrificing the experience), let's get to work. I will help you authentically engage with local communities and environments, and find ways to learn and grow while also enjoying yourself. Just reach out and let's discuss what you might want or need.
